Digitalization Equipment for the Prosecutor General’s Office

UNDP Maldives Resident Representative Akiko Fujii hands over digitalization equipment for the Prosecutor General's Office to Prosecutor General Uz Hussain Shameem.

UNDP Maldives today handed over digitalization equipment to the Prosecutor General's Office.

Digitalization of justice sector will increase access to justice for many and ensure business continuity of those essential justice services during crises such as COVID-19.

"Introducing technological solutions within the justice sector can address geographical and accessibility challenges and bridge the gap between justice system and communities, particularly those who are residing in outer islands," said Akiko Fujii, UNDP Resident Representative in the Maldives, speaking at the handover ceremony. 

 The support will assist the prosecutors based in the atolls to continue providing services to the communities and help connect to the PGO in Male’ for continuous guidance and supervision on critical matters.

The ICT equipment handed over today included laptops for regional offices, USB Mic with Speakers, TV screen and video conference system for conference room, graphic design equipment, and design and file auditing softwares.
