UNDP announces the launch of the Civil Society Capacity Development Programme
Launch of NGO Capacity Development Programme and Workshop on Developing Leadership for Civil Society of the Future

The Integrated Governance Programme (IGP) of UNDP with support from US Department of State is launching a comprehensive one-year capacity development programme for Maldivian civil society organizations. The aim of the programme is to enhance organizational capacity of civil society organizations for their effective participation in democracy and enhance their contributions in promoting development.
UNDP IGP, with the support of US Department of State is announcing the launch of a comprehensive NGO Capacity Development Programme and the first of a series of workshops to be held under the first phase of this programme. The first workshop will be focused on developing leadership for civil society organizations.
The workshop will combine a vibrant mixture of group discussions, practical techniques and hands-on ‘how to’ tips provided by an expert trainer with over thirty years of experience in more than sixty countries worldwide. The emphasis will be on equipping participants with techniques and tools which they can take back to their organisations and begin to apply in their day-to-day work.
Organizations who meet the attached criteria need to register their interest for participation in the first phase of the programme which includes a series of training workshops - nominations can be sent for up to two participants from each organization. Please fill in the attached registration form. Selection is based on the criteria. Registration of interest does not guarantee a place in the workshop. Kindly note that only successful applicants will be contacted.
Last date for expression of interest through submission of the attached form is 30 September 2013. Successful applicants will be notified by UNDP by 10 October, 2013. Please do not send any money with the application form – payment is required only if selected to attend the workshops.
